Trained German Shepherd

Pia is a three-year-old female German Shepherd who has now been placed with a loving family. She was always a strong dog from the beginning. She is clear headed, balanced and calm in everyday life. She is what we call a true protection dog—aware of her surroundings without being nervous or overreactive.

She was raised in a home environment, not a kennel. Around kids, around other animals, normal day-to-day life. She learned to take things as they come. She environmentally stable, in any setting, whether a shopping mall or local park. An alert dog should not change just because the setting changes.

She is very strong and agile in her obedience. She is trained off leash and her recall is spot on. Commands are clear and she follows through. We at Command Control Protection Dogs use a philosophy called communication direction and once the dog has gone through the learning phase a correction. No balls, towels or treats are used during training. She works with you, not for a reward. That builds a different level of trust.

Now with her new family, Pia is doing exactly what she was trained for. She is social in the home, calm around children and stable in everyday situations. But at the same time, she keeps an eye on things. She understands her role. An alert dog like Pia does not need to be told when something is off—she already knows.
